Nigeria’s Public Education in a Post-COVID World: Strategies for Inclusive Learning in Tertiary Institutions
In Nigeria, the COVID-19 pandemic has further widened the digital divide between public and private tertiary institutions. To close this gap, key digital learning constraints like access to devices, lack of constant power supply, and high cost of reliable internet need to be addressed.
All my social media buddies already know this glaring fact about me; I am a huge fan of virtual schooling. I tweet about it, speak about it at events, write tons and tons of articles about it, and I believe it is the next frontier in global education.
In February 2020 I enrolled in the MicroMasters program in Data, Economics, and Development Policy designed by MIT’s Department of Economics and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL). This semester I joined the MIT 14.73x class, The Challenges of Global Poverty
Policy Shapers is hinged on the philosophy that young people are the missing stakeholder at the policy table and the platform is fully conceptualized and implemented by youth.
The policy ideas shared on this platform are accessible publicly for anyone to learn from and implement. This is in line with core open source principles
Policy papers, briefs, proposals and the likes aimed at proposing modifications to existing policies or conceptualizing new policy frameworks.
